LocalService and NetworkService System Accounts

Hello all,
On my XP pro box, when services that use these two
accounts to startup with and logon, they fail. I checked
the event logs and found:
"Access is denied."
"The profile for this account could not be found."

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx all.

Have you been adjusting User Rights in the Local
Security Policy, or, is this machine in an uplevel domain?
Have you removed Authenticated Users from the membership
it has by default in the Users group ?

Did you delete these two hidden profiles from Documents and Settings?

wouldn't they just be recreated at next login,
or are these accts treated specially ?
