local settings\temp

I believe there is spyware in my "C:\Documents and
Settings\Facehead\Local Settings\Temp" folder. I have used
several methods and once i delete the files they come back
with different names in an algorithim of some sort. the
files are
named "~DF1EF.tmp" "~DF4B48.tmp" "~DFBA59.tmp" "~DFD942.tmp
" is there a solution to this problem? if so please add it
to microsoft anti-spyware.

They are used by "gcasServ.exe", the Microsoft AntiSpyware Service.

I agree with Jan--these files are from Microsoft Antispyware. Another bug,
but not the kind you need to worry about.

May be not a bug: the "xxxx~"-file is in use!
Checked it with TaskInfo 6.0.1.134 (http://www.iarsn.com).
Copied the "life" one and looked at it wit HexEditor
(http://www.hhdsoftware.com).
Nothing recognizable in it, just a binary.

Somebody thought they were copies of the definition GCD files--I've never
dug deeply into it--the fact that they are left lying around when the app
closes would be the bug.
