I loaded Access 95 on Windows XP professional edition computer. After
installation is done, I tried to run access 95, it gives error "Out Of
Memory". The system has 1GB of ram and 80GB of hard drive available.
There is a compatiability option on the start menu, I used that to run
the Access setup to be compatiable with Windows 95. It gave error MFC40.dll
couldnot be registraed. I renamed the existing one to MFC40.bak and copied
from the Access cd
but it agin gived MFC40.dll cannot be registred.

Please guide.

Access 95 and 97 had a bug on systems with 1 GB of RAM or more. It was
fixed with an update for Access 97, but I have no idea if it was for Access
95 which is such a mess that most people never use it.

Not sure that'll help with Access 95, though, Jeff, as it used Jet 3.0

The bug Rick is mentioning deals with Jet 3.5 so it could be the culprit.

The Access 95 in question is loaded successfully on Windows 98, NT4.0, 2000
and even on XP home edition. It loaded without any problem on another
computer having XP professional. On the concern computer, Office 2003, office
97 worked fine. This could be 1GB ram issue. But Jet35sp3.exe is a fix for
office 97 and office 97 works fine on that computer. I will try to load
jet35sp3.exe on that computer also.

Thanks
Bharat
