I have a Dell Inspiron 8200 Laptop that has developed an
error when Windows 2000 is starting up. The message is a
text error, (no BSOD) stating that

Windows 2000 could not start due to an error in the
software.
Please report this problem as:
Loader error 3.
Please contact your support person to report this problem.

Does any one know why this has happend? (not obvious
answers please) and
can I recover the OS?
or should I scratch it and start again?

Cheers

Nigel Wynne
