PLEASE HELP! I've created a web page with a LOT of graphics.. I converted
the pictures to 85% quality and put them in jpeg format.. but it is still
taking a LONG time to load...

I want the programs to load/display a little bit at a time (either
displaying the top to the bottom or possibly having the quaity of the
picture increase slightly). Is there an easy way to convert a bunch of jpgs
to do this? (i.e. display a little at a time on a web page)??

Any info would be ENORMOUSLY appeciated. Thanks in advance.

hello ,

There is a program thats called Image Splitter
(http://www.imagecure.com/). The program splits images in small pieces
so it loads much faster. Unfortunately it is shareware. But maybe is
there a program who does the same??

1. Reduce the number of Graphics.
2. Reduce the size of the Graphics. Quality has little to do with the
speed of loading. The size of the file is the important item. Reduce
the size to the exact size you expect the images to be displayed.
3. Use interlaced .GIF to allow quick display of some detail which
fills in on the next pass.

You could start your search here ;

Progressive JPG/Interlaced Image

http://graphicdesign.about.com/library/glossaries/web/blinterlaced.htm

Programs such as Photoshop 5+ allow you to select the number of
passes or scans you wish to have for your progressive jpeg.

Also see ;

Knowing the correct terminology helps a lot when doing web searches.
