LManager.exe

I have Windows XP Home Edition, version 5.1; I am having a problem with a
process that slows my laptop almost to a stop. When I look at the Task
manager, It shows LManager.exe using 99% CPU capacity. When I hit "end
process" the laptop returns to normal operation. What is LManager.exe and
how can I handle this problem without having to manually end the process when
it comes up? A search of LManager.exe shows no hits on the Microsoft site.
Thanks

It appears to be a launch manager program created by this company (URL below)
that may be part of a CD burning software package. The home page is enough to
make skeptical of the software. It may also have be included in some other
software installation too.

Oh, I forgot. There are some great tools here that may help you investigate:

Is your laptop an Acer? Because Acer has a program know as "Launch
Manager" that allows you to use the "shortcut" buttons on your pc. It
has never caused any problems on my machine, but maybe that's what
causes your laptop to run slow.

Yes, I do have an Acer. Thanks for the thought. I have submitted a question
to Acer Technical Support. As it happens, LManager does not always show in
processes. But if I start slowing down or operating improperly, sometimes it
will show System Idle process at 98%
