List of users on exchange in To: field

Can anyone tell me when i compose a new email and start to type the letters
of the users last name, a list of the users names who match comes up for me
to choose from,; where does this come from. I have a user who's list is not
coming up and i need to get it back. Is it like autocomplete in IE? Is it a
temporary thing? i noticed that it only comes up for people i have already
sent email to.

it’s the autocomplete cache and yes, its similar to the one in IE. It's
created as you send email. It's semi-temporary - the cache holds up to 2000
of the most recently used addresses but if outlook crashes it can wipe out
the list.
