List of Tables

Ansyl

I am using Word 2003.
How can I create a list of tables without the label 'Table' but with the
sequence numbering. I used the Insert menu, Reference menu.
e.g.
Table 1.1: This is table 1
Year No. of girls No. of boys
2002 7 5
2003 9 9

Table 1.2: This is table 2
etc.

I would like my list of tables to appear like this
1.1 This is Table 1 ..................... 2
1.2 This is Table 2 ......................6

Can anyone please help?
Thank you

What you can do is break each caption paragraph after the word "Table,"
apply a different style to the text following the table, and finally create
a list of tables based on that style. To hide the paragraph mark, format it
as hidden text. For example:

Table ¶
1.1: This is a table <--- Apply "my custom style" to this paragraph

To show/hide paragraph marks (¶), you can press Ctrl+Shift+8.
