Hi All, ...
I'm interested in adding medical words to my version of MS Word 2003 spell checker.

Does anyone know of a free Word document with a large number of medical words listed in it? I'd like to add them to my personal Word spell checker.

60 second peek movies of TSMR in regular use: http://www.tensecondmedicalrecord.com/Demo.htm, in regular use since 1990; free thru 2007 & until TSMR2008 released, uses Microsoft Word; can be used as an adjunct to other EMR programs.

Although someone may know of such a list, be aware that medical spelling
dictionaries are sold as add-ins. Since this is a (presumably profitable)
commercial venture, my guess is that anything you find for free will be
worth what you pay for it.

Thank you, Suzanne. You and the other MVP are a great! and wonderful! resource. For your years of contributions, ... Thank You!!

I'm not opposed to paying a certain amount for a list of medical words spelled correctly. :) I appreciate the value of the work of others. (Yours has been invaluable.) Some items do arrive in the public domain.

And I think you're right. It would be hard to get rich on such an item.

Cheers,
Gil

To the contrary, my point was that some people *are* getting rich on such an
item--at least rich enough to continue making it. See
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/marketplace/EM012334881033.aspx?CategoryID=CE063644961033
or http://www.us.elsevierhealth.com/article.jsp?pageid=372. The "pricing"
page doesn't say what a single copy costs, but a five-seat license is
$199.95. I note, however, that it is an actual dictionary (with definitions)
rather than just an addition to the proofing tools.

And thanks for your kind words.
