Linksys router fails to issue IP address

This started with the upgrade to sp2. Two wireless notebooks and a wired
desktop.

I have a cable modem connected to linksys router then on to a linksys
wirless access point.

After several hours or several days the router will not give a connection.
windows reports "little or no connection" If i do repair it reports
wireless connection good but unable to get an ip addr. Desktop machine acts
the same.

If I unplug the router and plug it back in everything is fine for several
hours or several days.

I found the KB884020 article and put it on all computers. No help.

I should add that I've replaced the router with a new one. Still have the
same problem.

Look in Device Manager at the wireless adapter's Properties. Is there a
Power Management tab? If so, make sure you've unchecked "allow Windows
to turn off the device" power management option. If there is no such
option and/or it is already unchecked, try a different adapter. Perhaps
the one you have is failing.
