Would appreciate any help here.

I have a worksheet which has many links to other worksheets. So many
in fact that the links take an age to update and in fact Excel
eventually stops responding. Is there some way that I can get around
this or is it really a hardware issue?

Other worksheets really means other worksheets in other workbooks (files)?

If yes, then you could convert the formulas with links to values -- but that
means that they won't update ever again.

Or you could open those other "sending" workbooks. That should make the updates
much quicker.

Thanks Dave, I need them to keep updating so I've written a macro to
open all the workbooks, update the links and then close all the
workbooks. This is definitely quicker and Excel doesn't crash now but
it is still slower than I would like.
