Links to Index page give "Not Found" if accessed from same index p

I'm using FP2003 to crate a page hosted by Network Solutions. The main page
is called index.htm and loads up fine. However, when I'm on that page, if I
click on the "home" button (or any of the template links that address the
home page), I get a "Page not found" error. If I'm on any other page on the
site and hit the same buttons, I'm taken back to the index page without any
problem.

Anyone have any ideas?

Can you supply a URL so that we can get a better idea of what the issue
could be with the code?

Oops. Well that certainly was obvious.

On the other hand, I created the links by using the "browse" for files
feature in FP rather than typing in the page name. I wonder why the browse
feature linked me to an Htm document if the actual document is html?

And here's another strange thing: although I have a single template for the
entire site, if you hover over the "Welcome" link or one of the several links
at the bottom of the page, they show index.html ONLY when you're not on that
page. When youe doing this on the index page, the exact same links (running
from the same template) come up as index.htm.

If the original file was .htm, and you published using FrontPage, FP
will change the extension to that required by the host. However, at the
same time it usually updates all links to the page. The usual problem
that results from this is appearance of a second "home" page at the next
publish.
I cannot give a reason why your links point to index.htm

The would also happen if "Selective File Publishing" was used to upload the file. FP will not change
the extensions, nor update any links. etc.
