Dido

Hi, all
In past, when have I old PC under W98 - I link in Access2000 without
problem FoxPro table with or without MEMO field. I select dbIV -
filetype.

Now, have I PC under XP home and install the same Access2000 and try
linking a same foxpro tables.

When dbf table has NO MEMO field - I link it without problem again. I
select again a dbIV-filetype.

When table has a MEMO field /dbf+fpt file/ - I get a error message:
"The external table is not in expected format".
I select dbIV-filetype.
Whats wrong in XP?

P.S.This is for FoxPro 2.5 under DOS with DOS-cyriilic set. Sorry
about my bad Еnglish language.

Hi Dido,

Have you tried using ODBC? The FoxPro and Visual FoxPro ODBC driver is
downloadable from
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vfoxpro/downloads/updates/default.aspx.

Hi, Cyndy, thanks for help!

Yes, I link successful in Access over ODBC foxpro files, but still
have a little problem:) - the text fields in original foxpro files is
written with DOS cyrillic character and in linked table these fields
is displayed not correctly.

When I link another table without MEMO field and by choosing dbIV
filetype - all character and values is linked correctly . This is a
problem when I link tables over ODBC driver only.

Have any ideas for solution ???
