Linking documents in Word

I am trying to create a link between 2 documents i.e. create a control
document and link it to the master document. The control document will be
set have to have a very detailed Table of Contents of all the headings and
subheadings that are available in the Master Document. The Master Document
will have to be created from scratch and will have all the information
necessary. By linking the Table of Contents to the Master document, the
changes made to the Table of Contents, should then be updated in the Master
document. For eg. in case I want to keep Section 1 and remove Section 2, if
I just delete it in the Table of Contents, will it be able to automatically
delete in the Master Document as well. Please advise if this is possible and
how can I link the two documents.

Hi =?Utf-8?B?Y2FzaHJhZg==?=,

No, Word isn't designed to do anything like you describe (delete something from
the TOC and it's removed from the "Master" document). This would require macro
programming.
