Linking Charts from Excel to PP MS office 2007

Hi

I have been reading a lot of Q&A about this problem i will describe but not
found the answer to it yet. I use the Swedish addition of MS office 2007 and
there i have tested different versions.

The thing is i have a quite a few charts in excel that are linked to a PP
presentation. Each month the figures in the charts needs to be update and i
want this to run as smooth as possible, just input the numbers in the charts
source cells and save the excel sheet and then go to the PP and update all
links, like it used to work in the 2003 version.

Now i have tried a lot of combinations here but not solved it yet.

If the chart is place on a chartsheet and i choose copy-->go to pp and pasts
as link the actual chart will be dislocated in chart area. Meaning i will
only see the lower right corner if the chart in the upper left corner of the
chart area/selection. This does not happend in the english version i have
tested, but there i lose the links imidately. Yes i have the excel sheet
before and also i have tested to repoint the document in the linkmanager. I
have seen a question here about this earlier and the solution is to zoom in
on the chart 200% before copy paste as link, but if there is any alterations
in the chart this problem reappears.

If i instead place the charts on a regular sheet, the layout in the chart
area will look ok but still i will lose the links, and yes i have saved the
documents before. Some of the charts work but then when i close the documents
and reopens them the links are gone. I also get a lot of links that are named
NULL??

I have tested to save the excel file and PP as 2003 format and it works
better but not when placeing the chart on a seperate chartsheet, which i
would like.

So has anyone any ideas how to solve this? Meaning haveing charts in
chartsheets and link them to a pp whitout losing the links when opening the
documents?

Have anyone excperianced this problem as well and found any more input?

In the english version are there anyone that have experianced that PP drops
the links to an excel file?

Any specific updates i should check ? have run the ms update so there are no
more updates there.

Which version of Excel is set as the primary (file associations) that opens
an XLS files when it's clicked from within Windows Explorer.

I had a similar problem with both PPT/Excel 2003 and PPT/Excel 2007
installed on the PC and the file associations were for PPT 2007 and Excel
2003. Fixing the file associations to Excel 2007 fixed the problem.
