linking an image in powerpoint

Trying to link an image to a file so that if image file is changed, this will
show in the powerpoint presentation. If you use Insert Object > navigate to
the image > select the link, Powerpoint message appears "It isn't possible to
create a link to and then the filepath on the hard drive. Any ideas?

Do you have a version after XP? If so you should use this method


1. On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click From File.
2. Select the picture that you want to insert.
3. Click the down arrow on the Insert button, and then click Link to File
