I have a word document that I am trying to put into another word document. I want to be able to change information in the source document and have the destination document show the changes. I am using the Paste Special feature. The problem is only the first page of the source document is pasted and teh information is not linked. I want all 3 pages to be pasted into the destination document. What am I doing wrong

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Wolf,

Try using an INCLUDETEXT field in the target document. This will link your
source and target documents.

Cheers

insert with a link. (It would also be possible to paste special as HTML or
RTF with a link, but InsertFile is what you should really use for this.)

Word CANNOT display objects of any kind over multiple pages.

I'm trying to use OLE Linking (INSERT|Object|Create From File) and am running into the same problem -- It will only insert the first page of a document. Is this the same problem -- that Word can't display objects over multiple pages? If so, is ther ANY way to create an OLE link in Word that can display the entire content of an inserted "file"? I looked at the INSERT|File option but did not see any option to "insert with a link". What am I missing

I need to use an OLE-type link because we are storing these documents in a content management system that scans documents for OLE links to ensure all "component" files are stored as well

Any ideas

thank
