Linked Tables on Server 2003

Have a database split into two parts - Application (on end users pcs) and
data stored on central server.

They upgraded the server to Windows 2003. Now even though they have total
access to the directory on the server, the LDB file is never created for the
data file.
Without the LDB they of course can't edit the data, or add records.

I don't know what part of the windows server 2003 changed, Any ideas of
where to look?

The first thing to check is that the users still have write access to the
folder where the back end resides. If they don't then the 'ldb cannot be
created!

Check all user rights in table and database , sometimes after upgrade all
permissions exept admin are gone. (happened once to me). check also that
client is capable to work with dbf eg. database is Access2003 and client is
Access97 or so.
