Linked data from a text file

I copied a file from Lotus Smartsuite into a text file and then loaded it
into an Access Table. That all seemed to work fine, but now I cannot make
any changes to that data - message is: Deleting data in a linked table is
not supported by this ISAM.

Help anyone? I need to be able to update this table that contains 5000
names/address.

Access can't edit a table linked to a text file. Instead, import the
data into an ordinary table, update it there, export to a new text file
and use this to replace the original.
