Link table in Access 2007 version

I try to open a database in the Access 2007 version, then link a table from
another database to current database; both of them are created in Access 2003
version. The Linked Table Manager on the current database is gray, so I
cannot make the table linked. Does this problem come from the User
Permissions? If yes, how can I change the permission? Thanks!

The Linked Table Manager is for tables that are already linked.

If you need to link a table for the first time, go to File/Get External
Data/Link Tables
(in A2003 - the steps will be slightly different in A2007, but you get the
idea)

I have few tables that were linked from one database to another which were
created in 2003 version. Now I have a new computer and network path is
different than before ( I cannot open the table now), I have to re-link the
tables through the network drive. I opened one database and click on the
External Data tab on the menu bar, but the Access icon is gray, I cannot go
to next step to link the tables. How can I do? Thanks!
