Hi all,
I have 3 types of data in my spreadsheet. Species code, taxon, and
average. Each of these data are spead out into 5 groups corresponding
to their survey number. So, I have 20 columns of data (species,
taxon, mean, survey) lined up next to one another. I would like them
to match up by species, but not every survey found each species found
in other surveys. FOr instance, suveys 1-4 found crabs but not in
survey 5. This means the data below "crabs" in survey 5 does not line
up with the rest. How can I make them all line up, so if a species is
missing, excel puts blank cells? Thanks in advance.

You must understand that no one who reads your question and explanation
works in your office. Everyone who reads your question is just like someone
who walks into your office off the street looking for a bathroom. Explain
what you have and what you want exactly as you would tell him. And use
generic terminology only. HTH Otto
