I have to edit using notepad the line number 456 of a program.
Is it possible to show the line numbers in Notepad?
Thanks in advance, Gerhard

Sure. In notepad, first UN-select the Word Wrap option from the Format menu,
because that would throw off the true line numbers if the lines are wrapping
to fit the window. This must be done to do the next step.

Then, select Status Bar from the View menu. The cursor's line number and
column will be shown in the status bar.

I recommend a fixed width font to make this easier as well. Courier New or
Lucida Console (my favorite for fixed width) should be good.

You can also hit CTRL-G to bring a dialogue to jump straight to a given line
(also Edit -> Go to ... ).
