License Question

Is there a recommended method of backing up the license,
not the CD, of software in case of a physical disaster. I
am referring to OEM and Retail licenses. Is it legal to
copy them and if the originals are lost use the copies?
Are we suppossed to report all licenses to our insurer?
Any links would be greatly appreciated as I cannot find
any info on this subject.

If you have a CD writer, simply make a copy of the CD or
CD's with your OS or system restore, write your CD key on
the CD if possible or keep it someplace close, and store
for safe keeping.

As long as you have the CD key, you're pretty much good to
go.
