License Question

My company has been running 3 Win 2000 and 1 Win 2003 Terminal Server for a
while now. Accordingly, although the licenses we purchased were all 2003
licenses, some were installed as 2000 CALs and some as 2003 CALs. they are
all installed on the same license server.

Within the next few weeks, we will be going entirely to 2003 Server. I would
imagine that clients currently holding 2000 CALs will need a new license
issued to them when they connect to a 2003 server for the first time.

What is the best way to handle our existing licenses? Should the license
server be deactivated and the licenses reinstalled? Or, should they all be
moved to a new server?

Thanks.

I assume that your current Licensing Server is already running on
2003?
Then it's a pity that you have installed some of these licenses as
W2K licenses, it would have been easier if you had installed them
all as 2003 licenses, which also would have worked with clients
connecting to a W2K TS.

I don't think that you can re-install the same licenses again,
neither on the same nor a new LS. You will have to call the
Clearinghouse to get them re-issued.

Yes the License server is 2003, and this was actually set up before I got
here. By re-issued, do you mean new authorization and license agreement
numbers?

Yes, since you can't install the same license pack twice.
The Clearinghouse will give you the new numbers and guide you
through the process.
