Hello,
We installed softwared called Rumba mainframe on our
client machine running Windows XP, the license key of the
product didn't get updated on the registy. Now we are
getting the Evaluation period has expired.
How can we update the license key in the registry without
reinstalling the product.
Currently were removing and installing it over again and
it's time consuming process.
Thank you in advanced.

Hi,

There is probably no way you can get this done. The
process of licensing is very well hidden in every
application.

For more information about how this may be solved might
be found at www.rumba.com

p.s. this is not a windows xp problem

With kind regards,

This sounds like something the company supplying
the application will need to answer since it is they
who know how the info in the registry needs to look
to their application. It could be some unique value
that includes some info about the specific machine,
so watching what changes in the reg on one machine
during a successful install and replicating that onto
other machines may not work for you.

If the reg did not update during a valid, legal install
originally, it may be due to lack of XP compliance,
in which case they have likely heard of this before
and have a fix for their customers.
