Lexmark X75 printer

I am trying to install a Lexmark X75 printer and I am getting a message that reads:SETUP HAS DETERMINED THAT THE SPOOLER SERVICE IS STOPPED. IN ORDER TO CONTINUE INSTALLATION, IT MUST BE STARTED. DO YOU WANT THE SPOOLER SERVICE STARTED NOW? CHOOSE "YES" TO START THE SERVICE AND CONTINUE THE INSTALLATION OR CHOOSE "NO" TO EXIT THE INSTALLATION.

After I choose yes, nothing happens. How do I get the spooler service started?

Also, in order to use the Lexmark X75 on my XP hardware, I have to uninstall it and reinstall it frequently. I get a message, after using it a few times that there is a faulty connection(this is not so). I can unstall then reinstall and it works for a few more times, then I get the message again. This is really tiresome. Any suggestions?

Go to Control Panel>AdminTools>Services. Look for Print Spooler
Service and make sure it's started. If not
then Start it.
