lexmark X73

please help me.. I love my lexmark X73
scanner/printer/copier/fax all in one; but it isn't
compatable with Windows XP. I've tried the Lexmark
downloads with no success.. This worked great with
Windows ME! I need help to get my lexmark x73 back up and
running with my windows xp.. any suggestions?

Shut the computer down. Power off the computer and printer. Detach the
printer from the computer. Power on the computer and restart XP. Delete the
printer driver from Control Panel Printers and faxes. Check Control
Panel Add/remove programs for any reference to Lexmark printer software.
Remove any found.

Download the printer removal utility from lexmark.com. Use it.
Download the drivers from lexmark.com and the patch. Install the drivers and
the patch according to the instructions. Do _not_ connect the printer to the
computer until the instructions say so.

Allen,

If you get any info on this, could you pass it on. I
love my X73 as well and it worked great with downloaded
drivers, however all of a sudden XP started reading it as
a z42 and if I try to reload as an
X73 tells me that the printer is not hooked up.
Help!!!!!!!
