Lexmark Problem......Again!

I have been experiencing the spooler problem described elsewhere in this
series. I went through all the steps to restart the spooler independent of
the Lexmark inputs, I cleaned out the drivers with the clnspool from the tool
kit and I downloaded the new drivers from Lexmark. Whew, not bad for a
novice. My problem is that when I attempt to install the new hardware...my
"old" all in one Lexmark I continually get the message: The specified print
monitor is unknown.
What does this mean? How do I reset so I can use my printer again? I
appreciate all the info that I have found on this column so far....so thanks
in advance.

I experienced the same problem, initially the drivers worked with the
Lexmark 4270 printer. The next day I went to use the printer it did not work,
got the error message "print spooler did not start". I called Lexmark and
they had me right click on the support services on the setup software. This
restarted the printer spooler and got me past the setup window and started
installing files, then I got the "user cancelled" window, nothing happened
after that. This was identified as a operating system fault. Now I see this
is a bigger problem than I thought. Where do I go from here.

I tried What Byte wrote and it still came up with:
The specified print
monitor is unknown.
Any other suggestions?
