I'm looking for a good site where I can download music from the
internet. I don't want to use any site that is not legal. Which site
is the best and/or least expensive? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

I have tried them all, and the Real Music Store gets my money for the following
reasons:
Best sound quality - Their files are 192Kbps AAC, whereas everyone else's are
only 128Kbps AAC or WMA.

Best interface - RealNetworks took Rhapsody's excellent interface and made it
better. Not only is it easy to navigate, but unlike the iTunes Music Store, you
can view a different page, while continuing to listen to a preview track. They
even have the option of showing you every album by any artist, not just the ones
they carry.

No additional software necessary - You probably already have RealOne Player, so
be sure to upgrade to RealPlayer 10, which contains the Real Music Store. RP10
has many nice new features, and its interface has been improved as well.

File compatibility - Real .RAX protected AAC files will transfer to my Palm Zire
71 PDA without conversion. If your player requires MP3 files, conversion is
easy. Burn all of your purchased songs onto a CD. RP10 now has the ability to
burn CD-Text, so you won't have to remember the track names. Your purchased
songs will now play in any CD player, and you can also rip it. Since RP10
supports CD-Text, it will automatically fill in the track and artist names,
before you begin to rip it. Once you have ripped it to MP3, you can transfer it
to your player.

Price - RMS's price is comparable to the others; 99 cents per track or $9.99 for
most albums. Naturally, albums with less than ten tracks are cheaper. I did
find one pricing error, though. ZZ Top's 79-track "Chrome, Smoke &BBQ" box set
is priced at $9.99 for the entire thing, rather than $39.96 for a four disc set.

Speed - My download rates have been 1350-1450Kbps, so songs download in well
under a minute each.

You can download RealPlayer 10 for free or you can purchase the Plus version for
a one-time $19.95 fee.

For non-commercial free music (ie. less known artists), try Amazon.com, and find "Free Music Downloads". Lots of mp3 and wma files for free download - obviously you won't find any known artists.
