Layout or Page Shifting

I have noticed a really annoying habit in Word, it keeps shifting or
redrawing the pages. It seems to take no notice of page breaks and moves the
content of pages up to the previous page at will (it's difficult to explain).
When you start typing again, or when you toggle the "show/hide formatting",
for example, the content moves back to the correct page taking note of the
page breaks.

I use the Print layout when creating a document.

The effect can be stopped by exiting word and ging back into the document,
but it does start up again (seemingly on a random basis, well I haven't yet
noticed any consistency in the behaviour).

It'd difficult to explain, I have a screenshot, but not sure where I can
post it.

Cheers

Hi Fin_D,

Are you using Office 2007 Beta 2 or Office 2007 Beta 2 with the Technical Refresh update?

Are these forced page breaks you've inserted? Does this happen in all documents or only certain ones and are these very long
documents or short ones?

From your description this sounds more repagination related than the graphics card driver update/acceleration change type of issue
that some run into.

What printer choice is set in File=>Print, and do you get the same behavior if you set another printer as current there?

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the post. I don't think that I have installed the technical
refresh, I'll get this done.

These are forced page breaks (both next page and section breaks). It seems
to happen in all documents.

I would suggest you are right on the repagination vs graphics driver. I have
never experienced anything like this in any office products previously.

The default printer is set up (Canon iR3250). Next time this problem occurs
I'll try changing this to another printer and see if the issue continues.

Thanks again for your advice, I'll post back when I've got the refresh
installed (may be a few days).

P.S. Remeber I've got the screen shot if I can post it anywhere.....
