last scheduled task not complete before next

assume I set up a scheduled task is to run every 10 minutes. It APPEARS to me
that Windows 2000 does not start another task unless the last task is
completed within 10 minutes. Is that always true or there is some setup
screen designed to tell Windows what to do?

If the task is already running, then what point is there in starting it?
If the task is not running then it will start.

If we set up a scheduled task to run every 10 minutes, we mean we need it and
we expect the task must be finished in much less than 10 min.

Problem is a particular task might not be completed due to error conditions
(server not available, wrong data feed-in, etc.) . In fact often it
generates an error, waiting for user intervention. One of these reasons is
because the designer or another programmer failed to include codes for error
handling.

So can someone answer if or if not the next task will start or not.

Thanks. ykffc
