would like to know how to set in Windows, that when I do a Save As or
Save, it goes to the last folder I saved to, so I don't have to go
through the time-wasting task of having to go through all the folders
to pick the correct folder, when saving numerous documents to the
same folder.

It all depends on what program it is you're using, which you haven't said;
there's no catch-all setting in Windows. Many apps will have a setting in
Options or Preferences or similar that governs where to Save or Save As to,
but in my experience the "use last location" option is all too rare.

That said, the dialog box usually remembers where it was *in the same
session*, viz: with a new document in Word, do a Save or Save As and
navigate to eg C:\Here. If you start a new document without closing Word and
then hit Save (As), it'll still be pointing to C:\Here. However, close and
re-open Word, and Save (As) will be back at pointing to wherever you've told
it to under Tools > Options > File Locations > Documents [for Word 2003].

Perhaps a workaround: If you have a location that you regularly use for
saving your files to, you could add a shortcut to that folder into the
folder where your app's Save (As) dialog points to by default.
