Laptop turns off without any warning...

My laptop randomly turns off, no warning after about half an hour.

It started happening when I was playing Sims (I'm 14). It would freeze up,
I'd still hear sounds and stuff, but if I didn't hold down the off button,
Sims would close down and my desktop and everything was zoomed in really big.
If I didn't turn it off from there, it would freeze up and turn off (it
didn't restart). I ignored this, as it didn't happen all the time.

About a month ago, It started freezing for about a second and turning
straigt off all the time. So I stopped playing Sims made a back-up disc and
ran a scan every time I was on my computer.

It was OK for a while, but now my laptop turns off after about half an hour
when I'm on the internet, or doing homework or anything. It's obviously not
good, and I could do with some help... ^_^

I'd guess it's an overheating problem, but I could be way off the mark.

If you don't already have something to monitor your CPU temperatures I'd
recommend getting something. I use Motherboard Monitor 5.

I'd also take a look in the system's Event Log to see if that goes you any
clues.
