Laptop in Slow Mode

M

Martin

I have Windows XP with SP3 and yesterday my laptop suddenly went slow. I have
cleaned all my browsing history, done a disk cleanup, a disk defragment and i
have also do virus scans (I am using Norton 360 and Windows Defender) but it
is still slow.

What else have i forgot to do???

==============================

1. See http://miekiemoes.blogspot.com/2008/02/help-my-computer-is-slow.html

2. Reboot a few times.

If still no joy...

3a. Uninstall N360 (and LiveUpdate and any Norton Add-ons) via Add/Remove
Programs.

3b. Enable the Windows Firewall (IMPORTANT!!!)

4. Download/run the Norton Removal Tool:

5a. Reboot & install another anti-virus application of your choice (but not
a Norton, McAfee or AVG application).

5b. Manually update your new AV app then run a full system scan.

6. Reboot.
