Laptop battery lasts no time?

New Advent laptop, manual says battery should last around 2 hrs but I'm
lucky if I get 45 mins. Doing nothing power hungry, just e-mail and
surfing, no CD drives, graphics programs etc. running
Theres a BIOS option to refresh battery when new and when it's appearing to
get tired. Have done this a few times with no difference.
Laptop is wireless connected to router/modem, would that be what's running
it down quickly?
What's the likelihood of having been supplied with a duff battery?
Have considered returning it under warranty but don't want to make a fool of
myself if there's nothing wrong with it.

As long as you have charged it properly (a few times) and it still does not
last...
I'd warranty it...
Chances are they'll just replace it and not bother to load test your old one

Same thing happened with my Sony, they replaced battery - still the same.
ie ignore what the mobo manual states, and try to find a review of your
laptop
