Outlook 2003. Office Pro 2003. When opening a doc from Outlook the
dictionary and spelling switch to Spanish. The language is set to English in
Start - programs - MS Office - MS Office tools - MS Office 2003 Language
settings. It is set to English in Outlook 2003 - tools - options - settings
- spelling - language.
Am I missing a setting somewhere? Should I try a Office repair?
Thanks.

How will this solve the OP's problem? He didn't say the folder names were
displayed in Spanish, he said the spelling dictionary changed to Spanish.

In Options you can specify what dictionary's you want to use or you may have
translated some text using the Thesarsaurs translate function which can also
enable the dictionaries. The point is w/e/f/outlook, etc. all think smart
and try and tell what language they are spell checking themselves. Great if
it works, not so great if it doesn't and you think that the program is
checking spelling in the wrong language. Next time it does that, try this;
right click the text it thinks is spanish, scroll to languages and ensure
that english or whatever language it should be is selected. hth --Erin
