language in language bar changes by itself

i use english and spanish keyboard settings, and i use the language bar to
change between them quickly. on the taskbar next to the time and whatnot i
have the language bar, and i whenever i click on an icon there (the time,
AIM, Messenger, or another program), it changes the keyboard settings and the
language. this is annoying because i think i'm in one language and start
typing, then realize that i have to change it back. does anyone know how i
can fix this glitch?

any help would be greatly appreciated!

The language bar setting is specifically set for each separate, active
task that you have open. If you use more than one window and set only
one window to use a second language, switching to another window will
always switch back to either the "default" language or whatever
language setting you last used for that window. Returning to the
window you set to use the second language will return to the language
you set it to. You have to set the language for the individual
windows by first selecting the window and then setting the language.
After that, it won't change for that window unless you change it. It
is NOT a "global" setting that covers all open windows but is specific
to each individual task.
