language bar will not show

I use several different languages. I have them installed on my old
machine. I have bought a new computer and went through the exact same
routine (control panel - language and regional options - languages -
details - language bar) The languages are correctly installed but the
language bar will not show. Right-clicking on the task bar just brings
up the usual menu (toolbards etc...) but the language bar is *not* listed.
I'm running Win XP, Media Center Edition

Any/all help is greatly appreciated

I went by the book and repeated all the steps outlined in your link (did this
even before posting here) - still no joy. And no, the language icon is not
hidden in the notification area. I've tried restarting the computer -
nothing. This is more than just an annoyance, as I work with various
languages and need to switch between them. Any further ideas welcome but I'm
starting to be pretty pessimistic about this

Thanks

I would go back to control panel and ununstall language support and then
reinstall it. If you have gone through this procedure, ignore my post.
