How do I post to a Microsoft Access file on my LAN?

I can write to a file on the LAN with Excel and Word but not access.
How do I fix this?

It's a local private LAN connected via a Hub.

Windows 7 on one computer, Windows XP Pro on the other.

All users of the database must have at least read, write, create, delete (or
modify) privileges to the folder holding the database file. Not just the
database .mdb file, but the entire folder.

How do I adjust the settings to allow this?

Windows 7 on one computer, Windows XP Pro on the second.

The Windows 7 machine has Norton 360, the Windows XP machine
has Zonealarm.

The settings need to be changed on the server holding the database file.
That's where you need to set the permissions.

There is a slight possibility that there's something in the database not set
up properly, but it's most likely that it's a file and folder permission
problem.

It's not on a server, it's on a local computer running Windows XP pro.
