LAN works fine, no Internet

I have a customer's PC that no longer can access anything beyond the local
area network. Internally, on the local network, I can view web pages, access
files, print, etc but I cannot access or even ping anything beyond the
firewall. I've tried the normal user, a newly created user and the
administrator. I've taken the PC to two different locations. Both work fine
for all the other computers at each site but not this one. I removed
Symantec Antivirus and disabled the Windows Firewall service. No rogue
programs installed. The user is very careful plus never just browses the
Internet. Only one strange thing happening and maybe this is it. The same
Windows update installs every time I go to shut it down. Thanks for your
help.

Does his configuration include a router?

What kind of firewall are you using? I've seen this behavior when I had a
user count on the firewall get exceeded. A user's system was working fine
until a new PC was added to the LAN. Then the count exceeded the 10 licenses
we had for outbound access and the old machine lost internet access. We could
do anything INSIDE the LAN just fine but no interent.

You should also check any personal firewall software running on this PC.

Hi
May be you want to explain what beyond Local Network means, and how it is
connected to the "Beyond".
If it is an Individual computer that is connect to an Internet Router and it
does not work with the Internet you can start with this.
