Lan problem

David

Hi all,

I have a MS SBS 2000 dominated small lan at home. All 5 machines coneccted
by a linksys hub. The internet access provided through ISA's web proxy
service except the machine which hosts the server to the ISP(cable company).
The server machine has two NICs. After a short period of power outstage at
night, all internet access would show up "server not found or DNS error" in
IE. outgoing "ping" to internet addresses with no problem. all machines in
LAN
can ping each other. If I disable the NIC for lan, internet access will be
fine again. What (probably) is the problem?

TIA

Get a UPS for your server w/a management cable - then it can do a graceful
shutdown in the event of power loss. Hard to say what's happened with so
little info - if your server went down hard, you probably have a lot of
errors in your event logs.... ?
