LAN modem

Matt

I have a small network with a dial-up LAN modem. I have
installed a new Windows 2000 server and ever since then my
modem is dialing out all the time. The server is running
the DHCP and DNS servers. Could the DNS server be causing
this problem? If it is the problem then what can I do to
disable it or stop the server from accessing the LAN
modem? I am not sure if I need to be running the DNS
server at all?

Yes, let the server run DHCP and DNS. Make sure that the DNS on the
servernic is pointing to your server-IP. The ISP-DNS-numbers should be put
in the forwarders of DNS-server.
