Kudos to MSAS

I've been working on a user's workstation the past day or so. His IE would not load upon launching, but once it timed out, you could highlight the address bar, hit <Enter> and all was fine. Initially I ran Windows Update, and since we have no patch management solution (we will soon), I figured I would address his 42 missing critical updates. After updating his system, I ran AdAware, which found some MarketScore entries and some harmless cookies. I removed them - to no avail. IE still would not load properly. I then decided to run MSAS on the workstation, and it found additional registry entries for the MarketScore garbage, as well as some new.net entries. Upon removing those, his IE popped right open and was happy once again. This is one situation to prove that even AdAware is not sufficient to keep your workstations clean, but also shows how far MSAS has come - it should be somewhere in your arsenal of troubleshooting gadgets.

Well, at least we know that MSAS Team is doing something good.
