keyboard problems

Row of numbers/at far right side is a key with a short horizantal line and
the upper portion of the key is a longer horz. line. Bottom line works
providing me with dashes. Usually top line provides me with one long horz.
line when I hold the shift key down and hit the key but it has stopped
working. Cannot get it to work no matter how hard I try.

Hi DWW.,

It's possible that there's a problem with the keyboard, or that you're hitting the ctrl key when using Shift or that the keyboard
layout/language set in the Windows Control panel may have changed when you're using the hyphen/underscore(underline) key. Have you
tried restarting the PC?
