Keyboard language for login

I've installed an English edition of Win2K on a PC in our
office with a French (AZERTY) keyboard. No problem
setting the keyboard language to French once the user has
logged in, but the initial login box assumes that it has
an English (QWERTY) keyboard available. How do I
configure things so the login box is expecting a French
keyboard?

I just had a similar problem: I have a French version of
Win2000 and I had to change the original French keyboard
to an English one.
- login with administrator privileges
- open the registry (run regedt32)
- locate the 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER' root key
- locate the 'Keyboard Layout\Preload' key
- change the value of the first entry so as to match your
keyboard (e.g. us=409, uk=809, fr=40C)
Now, the next login should be OK.
