Keyboard key reassignment?

F

Faerie_Knight

I have a very embarrassing question... Is it possible to reasign the keys one
a keyboard? I spilled some water on it, and now some of the keys are
mis-assigned. For example, here is me typing the numbers one through zero
using the keys at the top of the keypad: 1,2,83,54,5,7,7,8,9,0

Yes, that was a single keypress in sequence. And no I have no idea why the
number eight also showed up when I pressed three. My spacebar also got
mis-assigned. Instead of space, it opens a search window now. I am doing all
the spaces in this post using the on-screen keyboard accessibility program.

Any constructive advice would be appreciated.

Sharpkeys is a nice free keyboard reassignment program. You could
perhaps use the numeric keypad on the right side of your keyboard to
enter numbers, but the spacebar remains a problem.

Keyboards are relatively cheap. If a dry out doesn't help, I'd agree
with the poster who suggested replacing it.

Assuming that this is a desktop, you can buy a new keyboard for under
$10 US. If yours isn't working correctly, I would simply replace it.
