Does anyone know of a key viewer for vista?, I've lost my product key but I
still have vista installed I would like to know if there's a key viewer out
that works on vista ?

The keyfinder function in SIW is the Secrets option. It is the last option
under Software in the left pane.

SIW is one of my favorites but it does not yet work correctly on my Vista
rtm x64 systems. The dev reads this ng from time to time and hopefully he
will see this thread and comment.

Let me clarify. SIW works, but Secrets does not find the Vista pk.

In my copy of SIW, the key is not under Secrets but rather under
Software/Licenses.

This is what I get on Vista x64 rtm using Licenses:

"Unknown Microsoft Office 2007SKU: 0014 (and then the correct Office PK)"
"Microsoft MSN6 (and a PK that is
completely different from my Vista PK)"

No other data.

That's where I found it in x86 Vista. But as Colin says, it won't find it
in x64 Vista. Gabriel needs to get his driver signed ;-)

It doesn't work on x64. Driver error, 577. Probably an unsigned driver.

Here's another one to try. I like it if you only need the key as it is
small and retrieves that well. I don't have x64 to try it on. If you try
it, please post the results to this thread.

I notice also there is a new beta version where a fair amount of other
functionality is being added.

On Vista Ultimate x64 rtm it reports the Windows version fine but the CD key
shows "Error locating xpkey.txt" It fails to find Office 2007 at all.

Sorry, that was 1.51.
2.0 beta reports the Office 2007 pk correctly but no pk shows next to
Windows Vista Ultimate.
We wait.

I'm afraid not. At least not on Vista x64. I just ran Belarc Advisor and
it reported the Office 2007 key correctly but it did not find Windows at
all.

Nostalgic reasons? ;-) But only in the confines of a virtual machine, of
course :)
