kernel32.dll error when running prpgrams

I recently started having problems running programs like win movie maker and
another editing software..the warning that windows has encountered an error
and the program will be shut down comes up...when I close the box wmm shuts
down and when using the other it will not fully start....the error mentions
modname kernel32.dll
HELP Please
