HI, i have recently had some kernel errors, this started once i found that my
ram CAS latencies were set wrong causing the system to lockup, forcing a
power off situation.

Recently though it got a lot worse causing the blue screen of death

Error was as follows

STOP : 0x000000f4 0x00000003 0x889e8748 0x889e88bc 0x805d1146

If i format and re-install will it cure my Kernel errors?

Thanks Paul.

Hardware operating parameters, like memory is outside the control
of XP. Re-installing XP won't overcome the problems you describe.
Better to test your RAM, update the motherboard Flash code and
closely check your BIOS settings.

Not a very common error message. It is most likely hardware so a reinstall
won't help. Start by testing the ram. Use at least two of these diagnostic
utilities run from a bootable floppy or CD. Let each run for some time, not
just one pass. Also try each individual ram stick.

Perhaps. Or perhaps it's a bad hard drive.
