2. Intel® Advanced Pre-Fetch Module - With this technology, available for Pentium® 4 processor-based systems running Microsoft* Windows* 2000 Professional and Windows XP only, an overall additional performance enhancement is realized for Windows 2000 and Windows XP - based applications.

Be careful with AAI.

There are reports of it seriously breaking things
when installed.

Do a Restore Point and backup your data first.

IAA23 is not compatible with many of the newer chipsets on many motherboards. Check the Readme's System Requirements before downloading and installing.

I would expect anyone trying new software to backup and read all install information before using. I found it odd that my Vaio was compat. with this program and was not included by sony as a default app.

They probably want to keep support situations simple. It does have
occasional problems - eg generating an entirely spurious message about
low virtual memory. I ran it for a time and gave up when it proved to
interact badly with some DVD burning software. The improvement was
measurable, in the time taken for copying a 2GB file from one drive to
another on the other channel, but was not vast - a matter of maybe under
10 % on that, and masked entirely by other factors most of the time.
The really crucial matter in disk operations is seek times, and it does
not improve those!
